Interactive section with 12 Political Parties in the forthcoming of LG Election in the State
The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission will be making use of Four Thousand, Seven Hundred and Eighty three (4,783) pooling booths and Five Thousand, Two Hundred and Sixty (5,260) voting points while Six Hundred and ten (610) wards will be available for the forthcoming of Local Government election into 33 Local Government Councils and 35 Local Council Development Areas of the State come May 12, 2018.
Making this known in Ibadan today is the Chairman, Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission, Mr. Jide Ajeigbe while briefing members of the security committee set up for the election in his office in Ibadan today, April 12, 2018.
According to the Chairman, the committee is to take care of all the security arrangement during and after the local government election.
Mr. Ajeigbe assured the people of the State that the Commission is set to conduct free, fair and acceptable election come May 12th, 2018, urging the people of the State to come out enmass and vote for the people of their choice, that is Councillors and Chairmen that will represent them at the grassroots which have been eluding them over eight years ago.
At the meeting is Brigadier General Od Shoyele, representing, GOC 2nd Mechanised Division, Odogbo, ACP Abimbola Olusegun and CSP Awoyale Olufemi representing the Commissioner of Police, Akande Akintayo (CSC) representing the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence, representative of the DSS and the Senior Special Assistants to the Governor on Security, Evangelist Femi Akande where they all assured the Commission of maximum cooperation towards the success of the election.
The release added that the Commission will also meet with all the representative of participating political parties in the state tomorrow, Friday 13th April as part of her on going efforts for the smooth conduct of the election.
